Henry SearleAfter graduating in Industrial Design, Henry began his career in Turin Italy learning from Bruno Giardino (formerly of Pininfarina & Giugiaro). Here he worked on urban transport systems, snowploughs and concept cars.

On returning to the UK he worked with DERA, developing Photon gas guns in Porton Down and from there moved to the other end of the design spectrum styling sunglasses for the likes of Speedo and Paul Costelloe.

He got his first break in yachts with Sealine where he worked with Roger Tucker on the T46 (MBY boat of the year) and the S42 . Although enjoying his time at Sealine an opportunity at Princess Yachts was too good to refuse and he spent 7 years as Lead designer for Princess models; V65, P50, P61, V58, P57, V70 & V80.

After a successful run in the production yachts industry winning awards and accolades Henry decided to set up his own business where he concentrated on Superyachts, helping Devonport Yachts, AWD, RWD and Laurent Gilles to produce 3 UK built vessels; SAMAR (75M), SARAFSA (86M) and VAVAII (96M). Whilst designing Superyachts he also worked with M2ED designing smaller craft, from 3M jet tenders to a 15m ferries. All designs complied with regulatory bodies Lloyds, RINA, MCA etc.

With a wide design and engineering background, design projects of all sizes considered. Offering hand sketches through to 3d modelling (specialising in Autodesk and Rhino), HSD deliver designs that work and can be produced with no side effects to the key design intent.
